NotesFormerly the Cardigan Arms, marked on 1854 OS map. F: Baines 1822. D.Atkinson: Licensees 1853 William Chadwick, 1905 G.C. Denton. Brewery owner 1970 Tetley’s. The "The Needless" was a nickname for the Cardigan Arms which was just inside the Morley boundary with Batley. Its name was officially changed to the Needless in 1945 to prevent confusion with the Cardigan Arms at Woodkirk, West Ardsley and owned by the same brewery. The pub closed in approximately October 2021 and new owners reopened it in November 2022 with a new name, The Greedy Duck. On 25 June 2025 there was a public announcement stating that on the 14 July 2025 new owners would be returning the name back to the Needless Inn.
