| Notes | The Prospect was built on the site of the Old White Cross Inn. The Inn was mentioned in Pigot 1841 W.Smith 1898. It is also shown on the 1854 6” O.S. map: Licensee 1853 – Mary Hartley. It was a house of call for waggoners and described as “ A whitewashed building of considerable size…..It was low and long of one storey with many angles and two bay windows….. Prospect Hotel F: PO directory 1877, Robinson 1905. Licensee 1891 – Charles Brown. In a Morley Advertiser article dated 10 January 1975 it was reported that the Prospect closed in December 1974. Brewery owner in 1970 – Dutton’s. The property was converted to offices in the mid to late 1970s |
