NotesBen Worrall purchased the Alliance Hotel and refreshment rooms and Posting House which was on the present site. He converted the building into a 5 storey pub and in 1879 used the top story as the Victoria Music Hall. Later in the same year he changed the name to Queen Hotel. The top two storeys were later removed resulting in the present building’s size. Licensee 1905 – Charlie Brown. Brewery owner 1970 – John Smith’s
