Brewery owner 1970 – John Smith’s.The pub was located at Townend, an old settlement area of Morley, part of an old road from High Street to Back Lane (now Commercial Street. At right angle s to the pub was an old terrace of housing called Newsome Square, demolished in the 1960's. There was also an older area called the Orchard which included Halstead Square and Wordsworth Square. This above areas of housing area is now a public car park. The Pub closed around 2012 and the premises were converted in to an Italian restaurant. |
